Our History
From Dial-up to 8 Gig Fiber: UIA’s Journey in Connecting Communities
1996: UIA’s Beginnings
Founded in Ontario, California, UlA started as a small Internet Service Provider when the Internet was still a novel concept. We introduced dial-up services and educated customers about the potential of the web, offering web development, mail servers, and DNS services in an era before spam became prevalent.
1999: Embracing New Technologies
UIA evolved with the Internet, introducing DSL and high-speed connectivity. We expanded our Network Operations Center (NOC) and launched managed services, including the Internet Security Manager (ISM) Firewall, Hosted Exchange Email, Hosted VolP phones, and Co-Location Data Center services.
2015: Pioneering 1 Gig Fiber
UIA became one of the first ISPs in the U.S. to deploy 1 Gig Fiber Optics, starting with the Helendale, California community, serving over 2,200 households. This marked a significant leap in delivering ultra-fast Internet to residential customers.
2016: Expanding Fiber Reach
Just one year later, UlA brought 1 Gig Fiber to Wrightwood, California, connecting over 1,800 households. This expansion solidified our commitment to bridging the digital divide in Southern California communities.
Today: 8 Gig Fiber and Beyond
UIA now provides 8 Gig Fiber to the communities of Wrightwood and Jurupa Valley and to businesses in Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, and Jurupa Valley, with ongoing expansion plans.
We continue to innovate, delivering cutting-edge connectivity to empower businesses and communities across Southern California.
