UIA was founded in Ontario, California, when the internet was still new to most homes and businesses. We started with dial-up internet and helped customers discover what being connected could do, while also providing web development, mail servers, and DNS services. A lot has changed since then, and UIA has grown right along with it.
As technology moved forward, so did UIA. We introduced DSL and higher-speed connectivity, expanded our Network Operations Center, and began offering advanced managed services, including firewalls, hosted email, VoIP phones, and data center co-location.
UIA became one of the first internet service providers in the country to bring 1 Gig fiber directly to a residential community. Our first major fiber deployment began in Helendale, California, bringing a new level of speed and reliability to more than 2,200 households.
One year after our first major fiber deployment, we brought 1 Gig fiber to Wrightwood. More than 1,800 households gained access to fiber internet built for the future, right here in our mountain community. It was the beginning of a network that would continue growing alongside Wrightwood for years to come.
Eight years after gigabit fiber arrived in Wrightwood, UIA brought 8 Gig speeds to town, the fastest internet in Wrightwood. Same mountain community. Next-level speed.
Celebrating 30 years of internet access! From dial-up in 1996 to 8 Gig Fiber, UIA has grown with the internet without losing sight of the communities we serve.
Our fiber network now reaches Wrightwood, Jurupa Valley, and Helendale, plus businesses across the Inland Empire in Southern California—and we’re still expanding.
Technology will keep changing. We’ll keep building what comes next.
